As a Barista you are expected to provide superior hospitality and specialty coffee service. Your key responsibility is to work as part of a team. Together, we will work to provide a memorable experience for each of our guests, while simultaneously creating a wonderful environment for people to work.

Junior’s roasted coffee (72nd and ne Prescott)
Qualifications
Knowledge, background, and experience working in coffee preparation, bar management and hospitality environment
Passionate about customer service and providing superior levels of hospitality
Able to follow instructions and recipes
Able to multi-task
Strong organization and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Basic knowledge of math and computation skills
Able to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Able to obtain Oregon Food Handler’s permit
Responsibilities
Perform barista tasks during scheduled shifts, such as preparing drinks, providing an outstanding customer experience, operating point of sale, stocking products, and cleaning bar
Maintain extensive coffee knowledge as it pertains to brewing, coffee menu, and Junior’s Roasted Coffee buying practices
Know origins and stories of coffees available, and communicate knowledge to guests
Maintain knowledge of the Guilder food menu
Execute Hospitality Guidelines
Ensure proper food-handling procedures, sanitation, and cleanliness in food service areas
Ensure organization and cleanliness of the bar and dining areas
Dishwashing
Work Conditions
Stand and walk for extended periods of time
Bend and stoop to grasp objects
Bend and twist neck and waist
Reach above and below shoulders and squatting
Bend and lift heavy loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
Follow health and safety guidelines activated during the pandemic
Hours/Days
Wed-Sat/Sun. Shifts are 6:30am-2:30pm, and 7:30am-3:30pm. 32 hours total.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting wage is $15.50. Credit card tips are pooled with payroll and currently average a minimum of $9-12/hr. If card tips go under $8/hr, the company makes up the difference. Cash tips are pooled by shift and average $0.50-$1/hr. Wage reviews take place at annual reviews, and/or when additional responsibilities are included in the job description with an opportunity for a 3-3.5% raise.

40 hours annually for paid sick leave (may also be used for vacation)
Health/Dental Insurance (60% employer contribution) for employees working 30 or more hours/wk. Eligible within 30 days of hire.

Complimentary bag of coffee every month
Introductory Period
There is a 90-day introductory period. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you as well as for you to get to know us to make sure the position is the right fit. Supervisors and staff will meet multiple times throughout the 90-day period concluding with a 90-day performance review. Annual employee and employer reviews (the employee reviewing their supervisor and co-owners) will follow.
